Why Does My Tooth Hurt?

Of all pain, tooth pain is definitely some of the worst. Tooth pain can be caused by a number of things and take on a lot of different forms.

In adults, tooth pain can be a sign of decay, infection, grinding teeth, trauma, or gum disease. You can prevent toothaches or tooth problems by taking regular care of your teeth. Brush and floss every day and visit the dentist regularly.

Your tooth pain may stem from allergies, grinding your teeth at night, or even food wedged in between your gums and your tooth. Try brushing and flossing, rinsing with warm salt water, applying a cool compress, or taking an over-the-counter pain reliever.
